GIRLS PREP FASTPITCH SOFTBALL
NACHES – The Lady Vikings only managed to notch three hits, and no runs, in a doubleheader against the Naches Rangers this past Saturday.
While Mabton struggled with their bats, the Rangers had no problem getting runners around the bases, winning 15-0 in the first game and 14-0 in the second.
“We struggled with errors in the second game and Naches capitalized on them,” said Mabton Coach Jesus Sustaita. “Naches hit the ball well and did well on defense.”
Naches also didn’t make any errors while Mabton had four mistakes in the opener and added 10 more in the nightcap.
Risa Navarro, the Mabton pitcher, had a total of four strikeouts and four walks over the two games. Navarro also had Mabton’s only hit in the second game.
Hitting for the Lady Vikes in the first game were Sandra Gonzalez and catcher Maricela Chavez, who tapped out a double.
Mabton (1-3, 2-10) will be hosting La Salle for a doubleheader tomorrow, Tuesday.
