Despite a local resident’s call to the Daily Sun News this morning reporting sightings of triangular lights being seen flashing in the skies over Sunnyside last night, local law enforcement agencies have no such reports.
Even calls to the Yakima Airport this morning failed to reveal any reports of unu-sual lights in the Thursday evening skyline.
Sgt. Scott Bailey of the Sunnyside Police Depart-ment said what people may have seen were landing lights. But no suspicious sightings were reported last night to the police depart-ment, he said.
There were, however, nine reports of suspicious circum-stances to the police department during the past 24 hours. None of those calls involved lights, except for one stranded motorist near Picard Place. The motorist was reported to be having battery problems which caused his lights to flash off and on.
In other activity, police received two calls of mali-cious mischief, two assault calls, two noise complaints, handled six traffic situations and two trespass complaints.
Sunnyside officers also provided two agency assists, served three arrest warrants, took two informational calls and made two welfare checks.
