EnTrust Community Services, which has office locations in Sunnyside and Yakima, was recently awarded a $46,000 grant from Cause Populi.
Cause Populi is a national marketing and public relations firm that awards grant funding to non-profit organizations like EnTrust.
The funding, said EnTrust Development Director Mark James, will help the agency provide printed and online materials to its clients. EnTrust serves residents with disabilities and the materials will help them better understand how to connect with their communities.
James said, “With the use of our updated informational material, EnTrust will be implementing a community outreach program specifically focused on educating people with disabilities to stand up for themselves.”
He said the emphasis will be on self advocacy, as well as leadership development.
All of EnTrust’s clients will be served in such a way, said James.
“This project is a huge leap forward for EnTrust,” he said.
He said the agency aims to ensure each individual in Yakima County living with a disability has access to support systems and the ability to become more active as community members.
“Because of this project, we will be better equipped to provide people with disabilities and their families the information they need to have a choice in how they live their lives,” said James.
