An All Souls Day Procession will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, in Sunnyside.
It will be a walking parade that will traverse down South Sixth Street from Warehouse Avenue to St. Joseph’s Catholic
Registration begins at 3:30 p.m. on Warehouse Avenue in Sunnyside. The parade line-up begins at 5:15 p.m. on Warehouse Avenue and the parade will start at 5:30 p.m.
Community members are urged to dress up in honor of their loves ones who have left this earth. Signs, costumes and puppets are encouraged. Also non-motorized floats, lanterns and music can be part of the celebration.
At the end of the parade will be a large cauldron for messages to the departed. The messages will be burned and the smoke rising from the fire will symbolize the messages being carried to heaven.
Entries in the parade must measure no higher than 10-feet tall to avoid power lines.
