MABTON – The replacement of the Mabton High School auxiliary gym’s roof is moving forward, with construction planned to begin at spring break and finish by the end of August 2014.
In addition to replacing the roof, the district also has the option to raise the height of the roof by five feet, making the gym compliant with WIAA standards for volleyball.
The district also must decide if the light fixtures should be replaced with LED fixtures, which use less energy and require less maintenance.
The district plans to solicit bids starting in January and have a contractor picked by the board’s February meeting.
