The duo of Carol Monholland and Delores Dasso, both of Sunnyside, earned bragging rights this past Tuesday in 18-hole ladies play at Sunnyside's Black Rock Creek Golf Course.
In a 'blind partners' competition, Monholland and Dasso teamed to shoot an aggregate, 1-over-par 145. The highlights for the two linksters were a pair of birdies by Monholland, the first on the par-4, fourth hole and the second on the par-5 sixth, rated the toughest hole on the course.
Because there were an odd number of golfers who turned up to play Tuesday, all of their names were thrown back into the hat for a blind draw for "net" partners. Dasso got teamed with Prosser's Maryanne Currier, and together they claimed first-place honors, shooting a handicap-aided 147.
Three chip-ins were recorded in ladies play on Tuesday. Currier fluffed in the ball from off the green on No. 8, Wanda Stokes of Sunnyside sank the ball on No. 15 from off the green and Sharon teVelde of Sunnyside did likewise on No. 5.
Also of note, teVelde needed just 10 putts to make her way around the front nine on Tuesday.
