GRANDVIEW - What's the best way to offer a scary good time and put in valuable community service hours all in one night?
Simple, just sign up to volunteer at a Halloween fundraiser that will be staged in Grandview.
Tricks and treats will be on hand at this year's annual Halloween carnival and haunted house in Grandview.
The seventh annual fundraiser sponsored by the Miss Grandview court and the Grandview Community Float Committee promises to scare, entertain and leave you laughing. The event is set for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28-29.
The festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. and end at 10 p.m. in the 100 block of Division Street in Grandview. Admission for children and seniors is $3, and $4 for adults. The tickets for games are 25 cents each or 5 for $1. All proceeds will go towards Miss Grandview scholarships and to rebuild this year's float.
There will be games for kids, food to eat and a haunted house to satisfy your Halloween humor.
But the event wouldn't happen without its valued volunteers and donors. This year's event is still in need of volunteers and donations. And of course, candy is always a welcome donation. Whether you're good at hosting a game or know how to bring the scare, the team in Grandview is looking for you. When calling to sign up interested volunteers should specify if you would rather be an actor in the haunted house or host a game.
For more information or to register as a volunteer call Cookie Shannon at (509) 882-3198 or Lonnie and Andrea Hendrickson at (509) 882-2879. In addition all monetary donations can be sent c/o Miss Grandview to P.O. Box 401, Grandview, WA 98930.
