Ruiz then pinned Highland's Orlando Garcia (145 lbs.) in 2:47. Teammate Emilio Mireles (152 lbs.) added another win for the Vikings when he beat Luke Williams 13-8. Mireles was ahead 10-3 after the first round and had to survive a furious charge by Williams to secure the win.

Martinez (189 lbs.), Rendon (215 lbs.), Huesca (285 lbs.) and Diaz (135 lbs.) all received forfeits from Highland. Mabton had to forfeit the 119-lb. and the 130-lb. matches. There were no matches wrestled in the 103-lb. and 160-lb. weight classes.
