The bride is the daughter of Mike and Sue Wedam, DVMs, of Sunnyside and the bridegroom is the son of Roger and Maria VanTongerloo of Belgium. The couple was attended by her sister, Kristen Wedam of Pullman, and his friend Merijn Fagard of Leuven. The bride’s lace wedding dress was purchased from Fashion Corner and carried by her mother to Belgium for the occasion. She graduated from Sunnyside High School in 2008 and from Washington State University in 2012. She earned her Master of Science in anthropology from Katholieke University, Leuven, in February 2016. The newlyweds met while they studied at Katholieke University, where he has earned two Master’s degrees. He works as a translator and is an editor of a number of written documents.
